YOUTH LEAGUES -- Andover Soccer Association (ASA) updated its fall calendar this week, moving its Annual General Meeting to Nov. 9, revised from a previously announced Nov. 16 date. ASA's calendar also lists an Oct. 20 coach appreciation night, the Oct. 29 close of Goalkeeper Academy and the Oct. 30 finale of the ASA Development Academy. The fall season's last games are set for Nov. 7, with the Winter Development Academy's first session beginning Nov. 13. ASA says it fields boys and girls teams from age 5 to 18 and registers about 1,500 players and more than 200 volunteer coaches.

Andover Hockey Association (AHA) opened registration for its Learn to Skate program, open to boys and girls age 3 and up from Andover and surrounding towns. Sessions run weekend mornings from early October through mid-March at the Phillips Academy Ice Rinks complex on Main Street, with no sessions over Thanksgiving or Christmas/New Year's weekends. Families may sign up for one or both weekend days and one or both sessions. AHA says full hockey equipment is optional, though helmets, skates and gloves are required, and that space is limited due to the program's popularity.
