Conservation · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Andover Conservation Commission clears eight wetlands projects, delays one to October. Chairman Donald Cooper led the remote hearing through patio, septic and pool-removal requests at addresses including 54 Birch Road, where staff reviewer Ben Mead flagged that a submitted plan showed a wetland boundary 15 feet away when his field measurement found it was actually 30 feet, prompting a correction before approval. The board voted 7-0 to approve an order of conditions for a full home rebuild at 104 Salem Street and continued a wetlands-boundary hearing for 71-77 Lowell Junction Road to October 20.
Staff member Abby Mahoney reported a spotted lanternfly sighting near Andover and said "there's now a dead one in our office freezer" after testing a water-bottle trapping method. Commissioner Floyd Greenwood abstained from one vote, citing a missed discussion.
