ANDOVER — Tree Committee confirms October training, narrows grant scope. The Andover Tree Committee unanimously approved prior minutes and confirmed professional development training with arborist Ed Gilman for October 14. The committee narrowed the scope of its DCR Forestry Grant, shifting from a Sustainable Tree Guide to a simpler "Introduction to Trees" pamphlet after consulting with a contractor in late June.
The committee reported 20 nominations for its Deep Roots New Branches tree-planting program, targeting 250 trees total with nominations open through September 30. Members also reviewed five ongoing projects, scheduled a Route 133 consultant meeting for the week of July 20, and will explore a Tiny Forests pilot project modeled after a Medford program.
