Tree Committee approves MVP grant letter, confirms 250 trees for anniversary initiative

Andover Tree Committee unanimously endorsed a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant supporting a resilient corridor around Ballardvale train station. Chair Willow Cheeley directed the committee's focus to two major street projects, Route 133 at Shawsheen Village intersection and Tewksbury Street sidewalk reconstruction, and fielded questions about tree placement in the Route 133 shared-use path design. The committee confirmed 250 trees for the town's 250th anniversary giveaway, with over 30 residents on a waitlist; high school volunteers will assist with tree care instructions, and a pickup day is pending.
The committee also unanimously approved the February 11 meeting minutes and will convene next on April 8.
