Select Board OKs five fall-event liquor licenses

Select Board · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Andover Select Board hears first reading on 334-unit Minuteman Park housing plan. The Hanover Company's Steve Dazzo told the board the vacant River Road-area parcel currently generates about $150,000 a year in property taxes and would generate roughly $1.5 million once built, with 84 of the 334 apartments restricted as affordable housing. Vice Chair Melissa Danisch pushed on highway traffic impacts, saying "traffic already stinks," while member Kevin Coffey raised the site's roughly 8,000-year-old Native American archaeological history.

The board took no vote, continuing the item to an October 26 second reading. Separately, the board unanimously raised Town Manager Andrew Flanagan's fiscal year 2027 salary to $269,860, approved five one-day liquor licenses for Mill River Winery and Oak and Iron Brewing Company tied to Andover Day, RevFest 250, Howl-O-Ween and Run for the Troops, and promoted Keith Waidman to assistant fire chief alongside two new deputy chiefs.
