Select Board approves National Grid transformer installation on Canterbury Street
Select Board · Meeting of May 4, 2026
ANDOVER — Select Board approves utility work despite historic district concerns. The Board voted 4-1 to allow National Grid to install pad-mounted transformers on Canterbury Street, rejecting a homeowner's request to bury equipment in underground vaults. Member Kevin Coffey opposed, citing insufficient placement alternatives; the Board imposed a condition requiring the installation to remain entirely within the public right of way.
In related business, the Board unanimously approved a Farmers Market Permit for Blisspoint Meadery to operate at The Park every Saturday from June 20 through October 17, 2026, and unanimously approved Town Manager appointments to eight boards and commissions.
