ANDOVER — Planning Board discusses Route 133 corridor redesign and defers P&G/Gillette application. Vice Chair Zachary Bergeron and Members Morgan von Prelle Pecelli, Rocky Leavitt, Vincent Chiozzi, Jr., and Associate Lelani Foster heard updates on MassDOT's preferred design featuring narrowed travel lanes, a shared-use path, redesigned intersections, and new public spaces. Board members raised concerns about traffic impacts from intersection changes, stormwater effectiveness for known flooding, effects on public use of green spaces, coordination with utilities and the Department of Public Works, and responsibility for cost overruns beyond state funding.
Planning Staff will refine the enhancement plan, prepare a cost estimate separating state and town funding, coordinate with DPW on utility and maintenance work, and organize a Spring community meeting for broader feedback. P&G/Gillette's minor modification request was continued to at least February 24 without formal motion.
