Planning Board backs Chandler Road Phase 2 recreation project.

ANDOVER — The Andover Planning Board unanimously recommended Town Meeting approval of the Chandler Road Recreation Area Phase 2 project. Director of Recreation Joe Connelly and Deputy Town Manager Mike Lindstrom presented the design, which includes a lighted turf field, approximately 5,000 square feet of playground, roughly 1.2 miles of trails, and two parking areas totaling just over 80 spaces. The concept draws from approximately 1,300 survey responses and two public meetings.
The Board voted 6-0 in favor without acknowledging any financial commitment. Meanwhile, the Design Review Board has withdrawn two zoning bylaw amendment articles for further refinement.
