Green board backs bylaw to curb pesticide use in Andover.

Andover Green Advisory Board unanimously approves pesticide-reduction bylaw headed to Town Meeting. The board voted six to zero to support the measure restricting synthetic granular and foliar applied rodenticides, drafted with Town Counsel and requiring Board of Public Health enforcement and education. The group also unanimously backed a federal Microplastics Safety Act petition.
Director of Sustainability Melissa Eusden reported that an EV policy is headed to Select Board vote February 23 and that Planning is pursuing up to $3 million in MVP Action Grant funding for a climate-resilience project at the Ballardvale Train Station area, including flood protection, sidewalks, and river-related recreation amenities.
