Ballardvale commission issues three certificates for home improvements

ANDOVER — Ballardvale Historic District Commission approves three improvement certificates. The six- and seven-member votes cleared rooftop solar panels and siding replacement at 6 Clark Road and exterior work on a Chester Street property, including a new garage and sunroom connection. All motions passed with conditions and recommendations: conduits on the solar installation must be painted but labels left visible; the siding replacement should match original dimensions beneath existing aluminum; and the Chester Street project should omit decorative brackets and posts at the side porch entrance.
The commission also approved prior meeting minutes and directed staff to investigate online application improvements.
