Andover's newly formed 250th Anniversary Committee held its inaugural meeting, establishing a biweekly Thursday schedule and broad planning themes for 2026 commemorations. Deputy Town Manager Austin Simko and Director of Business, Arts & Cultural Development Ann Ormond reviewed the committee's charge and Open Meeting Law requirements. The 10-member committee identified concepts including educational programming, community gatherings, school involvement, American Revolution park refurbishment, and commemorative merchandise, while noting coordination with Phillips Academy, the YMCA, and district schools.

Officer elections will occur at the January 29th meeting; committee member Susan McCready will survey school 250th plans.
