250th Anniversary Committee elects Susan McCready chair, approves event slate

ANDOVER — The 250th Anniversary Committee unanimously elected Susan McCready Chair, Mark Comeiro Vice Chair, and Christopher Klein Clerk, then approved a working draft of four major commemorative events. Memorial Day will feature a park refurbishment and rededication with a new plaque, led by Klein with assistance from Ann Ormond, Director of Business, Arts & Cultural Development. July 4 will host a concert with an "America's Potluck" service theme coordinated with Andover Public Schools.
July 8 will feature a Declaration of Independence reading and patriotic concert. The July 18 major event, co-led by Martha Tubinis and Mairathe Emerson in conjunction with the Andover Festival Market, will offer booth-oriented family activities. Ongoing initiatives include downtown lights, flags, signage, and profiles of 23 patriots in local businesses.
