ANDOVER — The 250th Anniversary Committee unanimously approved a kickoff press release and marketing content calendar to launch Andover's bicentennial celebrations. Chair Susan McCready reported progress on four major events: an American Revolution Park rededication May 25, a National Reading of the Declaration July 8, a Colonial Craft Fair July 18, and ongoing downtown patriotic lighting and flowerpot installations. The Colonial Craft Fair has secured seven vendors with eight pending applications and a 12-to-15-vendor goal.
Deputy Town Manager Austin Simko urged expansion of family activities and adoption of "Huzzah" branding for the July event. Committee members committed resources including wreaths, flags, bunting, and coordination with schools and youth services on educational installations.
