250th Anniversary Committee advances planning for three major commemorative events.

250th Anniversary Committee · Meeting of February 26, 2026

Andover's 250th Anniversary Committee advanced planning for three major commemorative events spanning May through July 2026. Chair Susan McCready directed staff to develop a budget estimate near $15,000 for the July 18 Colonial Craft Fair, which will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM alongside the Farmers Market and feature vendors, food, and a possible beer garden with Oak & Iron. The May 25 American Revolution Park Rededication, scheduled from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Memorial Day, will feature the newly arrived Lafayette Trail plaque and a roll call of Andover names.

The July 8 National Reading of Declaration of Independence & Concert will open at 6:00 PM with a reading potentially featuring Andover Public Schools students, followed by the band Red Solo Cup, with a mounted period-costumed reenactor under investigation. The committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and adjourned.
